In my solution, instead, even possessing the game "master" in G64 or NIB won't lead to a working copy. Usually if "you know what to write" you can write any protection. I a learning more and more everyday and if you are interested I also created a copy protection mechanism that is as simple as effective. It's nice to see people still putting out this kind of information and work all these years later. I love this kind of stuff and hope to see more from you in the future! Scene releases were a huge part of my collection in the past but I was also a big fan of disk copiers of any kind and the various parameters that accompanied. He was thrilled to be "beaten" after 30 years As you can read from my document, it was pretty easy to figure it out.Īs a side note: it was amazing to talk 30 minutes with the author of rubicon protection. I am baffled on how nobody made a copy at the time. Whenever they encounter more than 2 zeroes they should have considered putting 4 and invert the next bit or use some logic. In reality what copiers didn't think of doing at the time was to check the bits of the read bytes. Same goes for certain key tracks, such as PirateSlayer, which is what nearly every copy program parameter did for this protection. It's easy to write out such protections though if you know what needs to be placed on the disk. Copiers can't reliably duplicate that because it's a case of the data that was written is not the data that is read back.
